Innovation in translation
The world is changing faster and faster, and we are noticing it. This change affects our lives, forces us to modify our habits, offers us new opportunities, and compels us to move and adapt at a speed unknown in any other human era.
This accelerated change is driven by digital evolution, the introduction of new tools, and the increasingly widespread adoption of technologies that have become pervasive in our lives: the cloud, artificial intelligence, automation, to name a few. The impact is disruptive: we now talk to our phones (which sometimes even understand us), televisions suggest our favorite programs, and even coffee makers are automated. Shopping online is often the standard choice for many things; we communicate with our contacts through WhatsApp, and we even have two lives, one real and one virtual, often spent on our phones or tablets, always connected and always “online.”
The change was accelerated by the pandemic, which made us more virtual, more distant, and increasingly dependent on technology. “Smart working” has become the accepted norm for many companies and workers; our schedules are filled with conference calls and virtual meetings on Zoom, Webex, Teams, and Skype.
This change also has significant repercussions in the business world: today, to compete effectively in the markets, it is necessary to evolve, use technology, and be relevant to customers, with quality, speed, and customer satisfaction at the center of every company’s priorities.

Innovation, change, and continuous improvement have always been our founding principles, at the core of everything we do and the services we offer our clients.
In fact, even before the pandemic, in addition to developing the Kliir app, InnovaLang embarked on a journey of digitizing and transforming its internal processes to improve their speed and reliability and, at the same time, enable us to further optimize process control and the quality of the translations we offer our clients. For us, it was a significant evolution, which was put to the test in the early days of the lockdown, passing with flying colors because it allowed us to successfully enable our project managers and translators to work remotely from the very beginning of the crisis, without any interruption in service, without impacts on productivity or quality, in fact, quite the opposite!
But of course, this is not enough for us… InnovaLang has long been closely following the progress and technological advancements in the field of professional translation, particularly regarding natural language processing, deep learning, and neural machine translation.
For example, in recent months, starting from our document base, we have developed Patren, a proprietary machine translation engine that, for language combinations to and from Italian, allows us to match and exceed the quality of general-purpose translation tools like Google Translate or DeepL.
It must be said that our use of this technology is very cautious: unlike some of our competitors who use it indiscriminately, often recklessly and solely to lower prices, even at the expense of quality, at InnovaLang, we use this technology very carefully, only as a supplement and not as a replacement for human translation, because we know well that in our industry, quality is not just important; it’s the only thing that matters.
This is because, no matter how advanced these tools have become, they are never completely reliable, and human input is (fortunately!) still crucial if you want to provide a quality service like the one we continually strive to deliver to our clients.
In short, at InnovaLang translations, we don’t stand still. For us, technology is important, and it represents an incentive to improve in what we do, in the way we work, and in what we deliver to our clients. Clients who increasingly recognize this and whom we thank, because they appreciate the quality of what we do and the efforts we make… To always do better!
